Dear ACS Community,
My name is Andrew Crouse and I am the ACS Superintendent. Whether you are a new family or a returning family, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year at ACS. This year is a very special year for our school as it is the 70th anniversary of our founding in 1955. Thank you for being with us as we begin our celebration of this important milestone. You will notice a few changes around the campus. A couple of the more visible changes are the adoption of new statements of mission, vision, and core values which you will see popping up around campus. In addition, we are engaged in a project to rennovate our cafeteteria and its associated eating area to make a more welcoming enviornment for our whole community.
In addition to our own anniversary, we are, of course, also celebrating 200 years of Bolivian history this year. Just this morning I participated in a parade with some of our students honoring the bicentenial. In addition, we have postponed our start until Friday to celebrate the holiday in honor of Bolivia.
Finally, we can confirm that Friday will be a virtual start to school. In elementary this will consist of a day of parent and teacher meetings. In secondary, students will start virtually. Please be alert for details about the first day from both the elementary and the secondary school. This is not our choice. The Bolivian ministries of health and education require that all school have virtual education this week to prevent the spread of measles. While this is not the ideal way to start school, we must always keep in compliance with governmental regulations. We will continue to monitor the situation and will switch to in-person education as soon as we possibly can. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.

Mi nombre es Andrew Crouse y soy el Superintendente de ACS. Ya sean familias nuevas o familias que retornan al colegio, es un placer darles la bienvenida al año escolar 2025-2026 en ACS. Este año es muy especial para nuestro colegio, ya que celebramos el 70 aniversario de nuestra fundación en 1955. Gracias por acompañarnos en la celebración de este importante hito. Notarán algunos cambios en el campus. Un par de los cambios más visibles son la adopción de nuevas declaraciones de nuestra misión, visión y valores fundamentales; los mismos que verán aparecer en todo el campus. Así mismo, estamos trabajando en un proyecto para la renovación de nuestra cafetería y su comedor para crear un ambiente más acogedor para toda nuestra comunidad.
Además de nuestro aniversario, este año también celebramos 200 años de historia boliviana. Esta mañana participé del desfile con algunos de nuestros estudiantes para celebrar el bicentenario. Adicionalmente, hemos pospuesto nuestro inicio hasta el viernes para celebrar la festividad en honor a Bolivia.
Finalmente, podemos confirmar que el viernes tendremos un inicio de clases virtual. En primaria, esto consistirá en un día de reuniones de padres y profesores. En secundaria, los estudiantes comenzarán virtualmente. Por favor, estén atentos a los detalles sobre el primer día de clases, tanto de primaria como de secundaria. Esta no es nuestra decisión. Los Ministerios de Salud y Educación de Bolivia exigen que todos los colegios tengan clases virtuales esta semana para prevenir la propagación del sarampión. Si bien esta no es la manera ideal de comenzar las clases, debemos cumplir siempre con las regulaciones gubernamentales. Continuaremos monitoreando la situación y cambiaremos a educación presencial tan pronto como sea posible. Gracias por su paciencia durante este momento difícil.
