Dear ACS Community,
This week is a short week as there will be no school for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday and Friday. As a reminder, you can always find the list of important school dates including school holidays on the Cougar Hub. I'll also attach a link in my message for convenience.
Tomorrow marks a milestone in the cultural life of our school. It marks the first time after the pandemic that we will host an event in our theater solely dedicated to the Arts. This event that will reopen our theater will be performed by our seventh grade students at 6 PM tomorrow, the 22nd of November. It also starts a series of events that will take us into the holiday season.
Wednesday will also mark STEAM day in our elementary school. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. We have a special coordinator at ACS who is responsible for bringing together our efforts to integrate these fields. The special activities on STEAM day are part of that effort.
Today, I would also like to make a bitter-sweet announcement. After 31 years of service to ACS, Mrs. Maria Inarra has announced that she will be leaving us at the end of this academic year in June. At the end of next semester, we look forward to celebrating the impact she has had on so many lives over these years, and also celebrating the next chapter in her life with her. While it is sad to see her go, we know that her work has left an indelible, lasting impact on our school and community. Maria is also actively involved in guiding our international search for her replacement.
Finally, as the Bolivian fiscal year winds down, I would like to give you a gentle reminder to make sure your account is up-to-date with our cafeteria provider. If you are like me, your balance may have dipped below zero without knowing it. They are currently supporting many delinquent accounts and could use all our help in settling them.

Esta es una semana corta ya que el jueves y el viernes no habrá clases por el feriado de Acción de Gracias. Les recuerdo que en Cougar Hub pueden encontrar la lista de fechas importantes del colegio, incluyendo las vacaciones. También adjunto este enlace link en mi mensaje, para mayor comodidad.
Mañana marca un hito en la vida cultural de nuestro colegio. Es la primera vez después de la pandemia que organizaremos un evento en nuestro teatro dedicado exclusivamente a las artes. Este evento que reabrirá nuestro teatro será realizado por nuestros alumnos de séptimo grado, mañana 22 de noviembre a las 18:00 horas. También es el inicio de una serie de eventos que nos llevarán a la temporada navideña.
El miércoles también marcará el día STEAM en primaria. STEAM significa ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería, artes y matemáticas. Tenemos un coordinador especial en ACS quien es responsable de unir nuestros esfuerzos para integrar estos campos. Las actividades especiales del día STEAM forman parte de ese esfuerzo.
Hoy, también quiero hacer un anuncio agridulce. Después de 31 años de servicio en ACS, La señora María Inarra ha anunciado que nos dejará al final de este año académico en junio. A finales del próximo semestre, esperamos celebrar el impacto que ha tenido en tantas vidas durante estos años, y también celebrar el próximo capítulo de su vida. Si bien es triste verla partir, sabemos que su trabajo ha dejado un impacto indeleble y duradero en nuestro colegio y comunidad. María también estará participando activamente en guiar nuestra búsqueda internacional para su reemplazo.
Finalmente, a medida que el año fiscal boliviano termina, me gustaría recordarles amablemente que se aseguren de que su cuenta con nuestro proveedor de cafetería esté actualizada. Si son como yo, su saldo puede haber caído por debajo de cero sin saberlo. Actualmente están respaldando muchas cuentas morosas y podrían necesitar toda nuestra ayuda para liquidarlas.
