This is an exciting week at ACS. First, our Cougars are competing each afternoon from Monday to Thursday with teams from local schools in the Cougar Cup. We look forward to welcoming you to cheer them on. The games start after school each day at 3:30 PM.
In addition to the Cougar Cup, our elementary school students are hard at work preparing for the talent show on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Finally, the secondary student council will be organizing a field day on Friday afternoon.
Please remember that we will have no school from April 3rd through April 7th for spring break. Then, during the week after our return from spring break, our student athletes will travel to Santa Cruz for the Friendship Games. We thank our coaches and parents for all their support during these opportunities for our students to compete.
On another note, I want to say a big thank you to the parents, students, and teachers who participated in the interview panels to select a new secondary principal. All the candidates mentioned the professionalism as well as the warmth and friendless of the panels. We have analyzed the feedback, and one candidate emerged as a favorite. We are now conducting final reference checking, and we will soon be making an offer of employment. ACS will long benefit from the time and sacrifice made by all of our panelist across each of our searches this year. On behalf of the future ACS community, thank you!
One final note, if you are interested in running for the board of trustees, the deadline to apply is this Friday, March 31st. The board has the weighty responsibility of holding the school in trust for the ACS community of the future. If you are interested, please contact the chairperson of the nominating committee, Maggie Franke, or the Superintendent's office for an application.

Esta es una semana emocionante en ACS. Primero, nuestros Cougars estarán compitiendo cada tarde, de lunes a jueves, con equipos de colegios locales por la Copa Cougar. Los esperamos para que puedan animarlos. Los juegos comienzan después del colegio todos los días a las 3:30pm.

En otro tema, quiero dar las gracias a los padres, alumnos y profesores que participaron en los paneles de entrevistas para seleccionar un nuevo director de secundaria. Todos los candidatos mencionaron la profesionalidad, así como la calidez y amabilidad de los paneles. Hemos analizado los comentarios y un candidato surgió como favorito. Ahora estamos realizando la verificación final de referencias y pronto haremos una oferta de empleo. El ACS se beneficiará largamente del tiempo y el sacrificio realizados por todos nuestros panelistas en cada una de nuestras búsquedas este año. En nombre de la futura comunidad de ACS, ¡gracias!
