Dear ACS Community,
I was pleased to see so many secondary parents at our back-to-school night last Thursday. Despite numerous students, parents and teachers being out due to illness, the event was well attended, and there was a positive spirit around the conversations and the relationships that were built bridging the gap between home and school.
Next month, across both divisions of the school, we will be focusing on an issue of concern for students, parents, and teachers alike. To raise the importance of taking a positive stance against bullying, we are calling September #StandUp month. Already, both our Elementary and Secondary Schools have been laying the groundwork for this special month. Please be on the lookout for messages from both divisions about this important issue for our community.
This week we have our first board meeting of the year. We also have secondary awards on Thursday as well as an elementary parent coffee on Friday.

Fue muy grato ver a tantos padres de secundaria en nuestra ‘Noche de Regreso a Clases’ el jueves pasado. A pesar de que numerosos estudiantes, padres y profesores estuvieron ausentes debido a enfermedades, el evento contó con una gran asistencia y hubo un espíritu positivo en torno a las conversaciones y las relaciones que se construyeron para cerrar la brecha entre el hogar y el colegio.
El próximo mes, en ambas divisiones del colegio, nos centraremos en un tema que preocupa tanto a los alumnos, como a los padres y a los profesores. Para resaltar la importancia de adoptar una postura positiva contra el acoso, llamamos a septiembre el mes del #StandUp. Tanto en Primaria como en Secundaria, ya han estado sentando las bases para este mes especial. Por favor estén atentos a los mensajes de ambas divisiones sobre este tema importante para nuestra comunidad.
Esta semana tenemos nuestra primera reunión de la Directiva del año. También tendremos la premiación de Secundaria el jueves, y el café para padres de primaria el viernes.
