Dear ACS Community,
This week, ACS students will travel to Santa Cruz to compete in the Friendship Games. For two years, our whole community and especially our student athletes have wondered if and when these games would return. Even after we formally announced them, the pandemic hung a cloud of uncertainty over our plans. Now, however, the week of the games have arrived. Athletes are making final preparations on the fields and courts. The athletic directors are scrambling to ensure that all the arrangements are in order, and parents are making sure their children have packed the right things and are carrying the correct documents. It is a buzz of activity that we have not seen in some time. For those of you who want to follow the games from afar, the school in Santa Cruz has provided the QR code attached to this message. The code will take you to a document with near real-time score updates. We hope you will cheer on our cougars from wherever you are.
On a different note, as my first academic year comes to a close, I am looking for feedback to improve my service to the community. In particular, I would value your input on a four questions survey about my relations with the community. You can find a link here. Faculty and staff will soon receive a more detailed survey. I appreciate your feedback and advice as I strive to do my very best for ACS.
Finally, I want to take this last opportunity to remind our community that the deadline for 2022-2023 financial aid applications is this Wednesday the 18th of May 2022 at midnight.

Esta semana los alumnos de ACS van a viajar a Santa Cruz para competir en los Juegos de La Amistad. Durante los últimos dos años, toda nuestra comunidad y especialmente nuestros alumnos atletas se han preguntado si estos juegos regresarían y cuándo. Incluso después de que los anunciamos formalmente, la pandemia nos tuvo con una nube de incertidumbre sobre nuestros planes. Ahora, sin embrago, ha llegado la semana de los juegos. Los atletas están haciendo los preparativos finales en las canchas. Los directores deportivos se esfuerzan por asegurarse de que todos los arreglos estén en orden, y los padres de familia se aseguren de sus hijos hayan empacado lo necesario y que lleven los documentos correctos.. Es un zumbido de actividad que no hemos visto en mucho tiempo. Para los que quieran seguir los partidos de lejos, el colegio de Santa Cruz ha facilitado un código QR adjunto a este mensaje. El Código lo llevará a un documento con actualizaciones de puntaje casi en tiempo real. Esperamos que anime a nuestros pumas desde donde esté.
En otro aspecto, a medida que mi primer año académico llega a su fin, estoy esperando comentarios para mejorar mi servicio a la comunidad. En particular, agradecería su aporte en una encuesta de cuatro preguntas sobre la relación que mantengo con la comunidad. Puedes encontrar el enlace aquí.
