Happy Halloween! Of course, our big celebrations took place last week. On Friday, we had both the Halloween parade in the elementary school and our whole school Halloween fair in the evening. It was obvious that the pandemic has created pent-up demand for such events because we had an incredible turnout. Our best estimate is that more than 500 people came to the Halloween fair. The crowd was positive, enthusiastic, and fun. It was wonderful to see our campus so alive again.
This week will also be a busy one at ACS, but remember there is no school on Wednesday in honor of All Souls' Day. The exciting focus for this week will be the friendship games. On Tuesday, the whole school will join together in a pep rally in our gym to inspire and encourage our Cougar athletes before they head off to Cochabamba to compete. Our teams will leave La Paz on Wednesday afternoon, and compete on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I am excited to join them to cheer them on and to meet with the leaders of the other schools and look for ways that we can deepen our collaboration for our mutual benefit. Consequently, there will not be a breakfast with the superintendent this Friday, but this new event will return the following week.

¡Feliz Halloween! Por supuesto, nuestra gran celebración tuvo lugar la semana pasada. El viernes tuvimos el desfile de Halloween de primaria, y por la noche tuvimos la feria de Halloween para todo el colegio. Obviamente, la pandemia ha creado una demanda acumulada para este tipo de eventos ya que tuvimos una participación increíble. Estimamos que más de 500 personas asistieron a la feria de Halloween. La multitud fue positiva, entusiasta y divertida. Fue maravilloso ver nuestro campus tan lleno de vida nuevamente.
Esta semana también será muy ocupada en ACS, pero recuerden que no hay clases el miércoles en honor al Día de las Almas. El enfoque emocionante de esta semana serán los Juegos de la Amistad. El martes, todo el colegio se reunirá en el gimnasio para inspirar y alentar a nuestros atletas Cougar antes de su partida a Cochabamba para competir. Nuestros equipos partirán de La Paz el miércoles por la tarde y competirán el jueves, viernes y sábado. Estoy emocionado de unirme a ellos para animarlos y de reunirme con los líderes de los otros colegios, y buscar formas en que podamos profundizar nuestra colaboración para nuestro beneficio mutuo. En consecuencia, no habrá desayuno con el Superintendente este viernes, pero este nuevo evento volverá la semana siguiente.
