Dear ACS Community,
This past week and weekend, ACS was delighted to host the “Calvert Cup” and the Middle School Friendship Games. It was wonderful to see so many students and families here on campus competing in the spirit of friendship. I'm thankful to our athletic director, all our coaches as well as our facilities team for all of their hard work in making these events possible. Thank you.
In addition to these big events, I am also proud of the opportunities that many of our teachers create for our students to demonstrate their learning to an authentic audience. I recently learned an artistic technique called false markettery from secondary art students at one such event. At another event, I learned about tourist destinations all over Bolivia from 5th grade Spanish students. These kinds of events require students to consolidate their knowledge to a high degree. Thank you teachers for providing them.
Our end-of-semester activities continue this week with our last Parents as Partners presentation tomorrow at 10 AM. Then, on Wednesday, our 11th and 12th graders will hear from community members about university and career paths. The week will end with student presentations in the theater at 6:00 PM on both Thursday and Friday evenings.
This week we will also open the possibility of parents delivering hot food. You should soon receive more details from our facilities' manager. For your convenience, during delivery times, we will also make the lost and found items available just inside the new entrance in front of the administration building. With the return of so many on campus activities, we have accumulated a large amount of lost and found and will need to donate to charity what is not collected after the 21st of December.
In addition, I would like to announce that ACS will host free-of-charge the following holiday fun swim sessions for students and parents. Please note, parents will be responsible for their children at these events. The times are: Friday, December 9th & 16th from 3:30 – 5:30 PM, and Saturday, December 10th & 17th from 9:30 – 11:30 AM.
Finally, please be on the lookout for invitations to our KG3 through 1st grade concert on 19 December, and our grade 2 through grade 5 concert on 20 December.

Estimada Comunidad de ACS,
La semana y el fin de semana pasados, el ACS tuvo el placer de organizar la “Copa Calvert” y los Juegos de la Amistad de Intermedio. Fue maravilloso ver tantos alumnos y familias aquí en el campus, compitiendo con un espíritu de amistad. Estoy agradecido con nuestro director atlético, todos nuestros entrenadores y nuestro equipo de instalaciones por todo su arduo trabajo para hacer posible estos eventos. Gracias.
Además de estos grandes eventos, también estoy orgulloso de las oportunidades que muchos de nuestros profesores crean para que nuestros alumnos puedan demostrar su aprendizaje a una audiencia auténtica. Recientemente, en uno de esos eventos, aprendí de los alumnos de arte de secundaria una técnica artística llamada mercadotecnia falsa. En otro evento, aprendí de los alumnos de quinto grado sobre destinos turísticos de toda Bolivia. Este tipo de eventos hacen que los alumnos consoliden sus conocimientos en un alto grado. Gracias queridos profesores por brindarlos.
Nuestras actividades de fin de semestre continúan esta semana con nuestra última presentación de Padres como Socios mañana a las 10 a.m. Luego, el miércoles, nuestros alumnos de los grados 11 y 12 escucharan de los miembros de la comunidad acerca de las trayectorias universitarias y profesionales. La semana culminará con presentaciones de los alumnos en el teatro a las 6:00 p.m. el jueves y viernes.
Esta semana también abriremos la posibilidad de que los padres puedan traer comida caliente. Pronto recibirán mayores detalles de nuestro gerente de instalaciones. Para su comodidad, durante las horas de entrega, también pondremos los artículos perdidos y encontrados justo dentro de la nueva entrada frente al edificio de administración. Con el regreso de tantas actividades en el campus, hemos acumulado una gran cantidad de objetos perdidos y encontrados, y lo que no se recoja hasta el 21 de diciembre, tendremos que donar a una institución benéfica.
Además, me gustaría anunciar que el ACS organizará sin costo alguno las siguientes divertidas sesiones de natación para padres y alumnos. Por favor tengan en cuenta que los padres serán responsables de sus hijos durante estos eventos. Los horarios son: viernes 9 y 16 de diciembre, de 15:30 a 17:30 horas; y sábado 10 y 17 de diciembre de 9:30 a 11:30 horas.
Para terminar, por favor estén atentos a las invitaciones para nuestro concierto de los alumnos de KG3 hasta 1er grado el 19 de diciembre. Y el 20 de diciembre el concierto del 2do grado hasta el 5to grado.
