Dear ACS Community,
I'm very pleased to report that COVID-19 cases continue to fall locally. In fact, there were only four new cases reported in municipal La Paz yesterday. Thus, in consultation with our school doctor, we feel that we can take another step toward reducing our mitigation efforts. Starting tomorrow, we will still require mask wearing at school, but we will no longer stipulate the use of high-efficiency masks. Surgical masks will be permitted. Of course, students may continue to wear high-efficiency masks if they prefer to do so. In fact, our elementary school recommends their continued use due to the better fit on small faces, but we will leave the choice up to individual families.
In another sign that the pandemic continues to loosen its grip upon us, we will celebrate the talents of ACS students on Friday in our annual talent show. Due to limited availability, tickets will first be sold to students and staff. The remaining tickets will go on sale Wednesday afternoon. The show will start at 5 PM on the 8th of April. We are happy to see this showcase of student talent return.

Me alegra informar que los casos de COVID-19 continúan disminuyendo a nivel local. De hecho, ayer solo se reportaron cuatro nuevos casos en el Municipio de La Paz. Por lo tanto, en consulta con nuestro médico escolar, creemos que podemos dar otro paso hacia la reducción de nuestros esfuerzos de mitigación. A partir de mañana, seguiremos requiriendo el uso de mascarillas en el colegio, pero ya no estipularemos el uso de mascarillas de alta eficiencia. Se permitirá mascarillas quirúrgicas, Por supuesto, los alumnos pueden seguir usando mascarillas de alta eficiencia si así lo prefieren. De hecho, Primaria recomienda el uso continuado de este tipo de mascarillas debido a que se adapta mejor a las caras pequeñas, pero dejaremos la elección en manos de las familias.
En señal de que la pandemia sigue aflojando, celebraremos los talentos de los alumnos de ACS este viernes en nuestro evento anual de talentos. Debido a la disponibilidad limitada, los boletos se venderán primero a los alumnos y al personal. Las entradas restantes saldrán a la venta el miércoles por la tarde. El espectáculo comenzará a las 5:00pm el 8 de abril. Estamos felices de ver regresar esta exhibición de talento estudiantil.
