13 December 2021 - the week ahead

 Dear ACS Community,

You may notice that I look a little less formal today while I'm observing quarantine in a small room at the top of my house.  Now that the urgency has passed, we are better able to reflect on the events of last week.  All semester, we only had four cases that required contact-tracing.  Then suddenly, last week, five of our community members tested positive.  This, along with reports of increased COVID-19 at other local schools, prompted us to move school to a virtual modality this week.  After contact tracing, we identified three entire classrooms and sixteen individuals who required quarantine.  The good news is that subsequently no additional positive cases that require contract tracing have been found.  In addition, as of yesterday, the data from municipal La Paz shows no increase.  You can see that data in the chart attached to my message.

Furthermore, we are trying to arrange a vaccination clinic at the school for younger children as soon as possible even if that is over the break.  If you have an opportunity to have your children vaccinated elsewhere, however, please do not hesitate to do so.

It is our hope that when we return to school in January, that we will be able to continue the same pattern that we had in the last few weeks.  Namely, students in KG3-G1 and G7-12 on campus every day, and students in G2-G6 in a hybrid program.   We have also made a request to bring more grade 6 students back to the campus more often.  In the new year, we plan to make a similar request to bring back more G2-G5 students, provided vaccination rates are sufficient.  Of course predicting the future in time of COVID-19 is a futile endeavor.  So, I will update you when the start of the new semester is closer.

Estimada Comunidad de ACS,

El día de hoy me veo mas informal mientras estoy en cuarentena en una pequeña habitación en la parte superior de mi casa. Ahora que ya pasado la urgencia, podemos reflexionar mejor sobre los acontecimientos de la semana pasada. Durante todo el semestre, tuvimos solamente cuatro casos que requirieron rastreo de contactos. Entonces, de repente la semana pasada, cinco de los miembros de nuestra comunidad dieron positivo. Esto, junto con los informes de un aumento de COVID-19 en otros colegios locales, nos obligó a volver a la modalidad virtual esta semana. Después de rastrear los contactos, identificamos tres aulas enteras y dieciséis personas tuvieron que mantenerse en cuarentena. La buena noticia es que posteriormente no han habido casos positivos adicionales que requieran rastreo de contactos. Además a partir de ayer, los datos del municipio de La Paz no muestran ningún incremento de casos. Puede ver estos datos en el cuadro adjunto a mi mensaje.

También, estamos tratando de organizar una clínica de vacunación en el colegio para los niños más pequeños lo antes posible, incluso durante las vacaciones. Sin embargo, si tienen la oportunidad de vacunar a sus hijos en otro lugar, no duden en hacerlo.

Esperamos que cuando regresemos al colegio en enero, podamos continuar con el mismo patrón que tuvimos en las últimas semanas. Es decir, alumnos de KG3 - G1 y G7-12 puedan estar en el campus todos los días y alumnos de G2 - G6 en un programa semi-presencial. También hicimos una solicitud para que más alumnos de sexto grado puedan venir al colegio con mas frecuencia. En el nuevo año, planeamos hacer una solicitud similar para traer de regreso a más alumnos de G2 - G5, siempre que la tasa de vacunación sea suficiente. Por supuesto, predecir el futuro en este tiempo de COVID-19 es un esfuerzo inútil. Entonces, los mantendré actualizados cuando el inicio de nuevo semestre esté más cerca.

Dear ACS Community,
It is unusual that I am speaking to you from home today.  At ACS, we have just had our fourth case of COVID-19 that included close contacts that required contact tracing and quarantine at school.  In this case, I am also a close contact of the person with COVID-19.  Thus, I am at home on quarantine.  As in all of our cases, the impacted individuals have been contacted and asked to quarantine.  Given the situation, I think it is an appropriate time to share some information about the local incidence of COVID-19 and to describe our plans for further reopening.  
The first plot linked to my message shows the incidence of COVID-19 at several sites in Bolivia.  You can see that it is still dominated by the green curve showing cases in Santa Cruz.  



Once we remove the Santa Cruz data, however, you can see that the cases in La Paz are also increasing although not as dramatically.  
 

We also have reports that intensive care units at local hospitals have a much greater occupancy rate than they did a few weeks ago.  Finally, we join the rest of the world in anxiously awaiting details on the true nature of the omicron variant.  While it is clear the pandemic has not completely released its grip upon us yet, we are not in a dire situation.  

With this in mind, we plan to keep our current biosecurity posture constant until the break.  We also want to take this opportunity to urge everyone in our community to take advantage of any vaccination opportunity that is available to them.  In addition, we have asked our distrital authorities for permission to bring back vaccinated sixth grade students full time in the new year.  We also hope to make a similar request for students in grades 2-5 as soon as an appreciable number of students at those levels are vaccinated.  

Thank you to our whole community for taking our biosecurity protocols seriously and having patience during the quarantine periods.  I now know first hand how inconvenient this is, but I am very thankful to be part of a community that prioritizes the safety of all of its members.

Es inusual que hoy les este escribiendo desde mi casa. En ACS, acabamos de tener el cuarto caso de COVID-19 y se ha requerido un rastreo de contactos cercanos y cuarentena en el colegio. Yo también soy un contacto cercano con la persona que contrajo COVID-19, por lo que me encuentro en cuarentena en mi casa. Como lo hemos hecho en casos anteriores, se ha contactado a las personas afectada y se les ha pedido que se pongan en cuarentena. Dada la situación, creo que es un momento apropiado para compartir información sobre la incidencia local de COVID-19 y determinar nuestros planes para una mayor apertura.

El primer diagrama vinculado a este mensaje muestra la incidencia de COVID-19 en varios lugares de Bolivia. Por la curva, todavía se puede apreciar que Santa Cruz esta a la cabeza de casos positivos.

 

Una vez que eliminamos los datos en Santa Cruz, sin embargo, se puede ver que los casos también están aumentando en La Paz, aunque no tan dramáticamente.

 

También tenemos informes de que las unidades de cuidados intensivos en los hospitales locales tienen una tasa de ocupación mucho mayor que hace unas semanas atrás. Finalmente, nos unimos al resto del mundo para esperar ansiosamente detalles sobre la verdadera naturaleza de la variante omicrom. Si bien esta claro que la pandemia aún no nos ha liberado por completo, no estamos en una situación desesperada.

Con esto en mente, planeamos mantener constante nuestra postura actual de bioseguridad hasta la vacación. También queremos aprovechar esta oportunidad para solicitar a todos en nuestra comunidad a aprovechar cualquier oportunidad de vacunación que este disponible. Además, hemos pedido permiso a nuestras autoridades distritales para que los alumnos de 6to curso vacunados puedan regresar el año nuevo a tiempo completo. También esperamos hacer una solicitud similar para los alumnos de 2-5 cursos tan pronto como se vacune un número apreciable de alumnos en esos niveles.

Gracias a toda nuestra comunidad por tomar en serio nuestros protocolos de bioseguridad y tener paciencia durante los periodos de cuarentena. Ahora sé de primera mano lo inconveniente  que es esto, pero estoy muy agradecido de ser parte de una comunidad que prioriza la seguridad de todos sus miembros.

29 November 2021 - Student Centered Learning

Dear ACS Community,

Throughout the school we have intentionally reemphasized a priority from our ACS strategic plan, it reads as follows.

Goal #3 Priority 5:  Continue to shift instructional practice from a teacher-centered approach to a student centered approach.

On the 20th of September, my message explained a little about what this means.  Today, I would like to tell you a little more about why it is important, and share with you some of our recent progress in this area as well as some of the plans that lie ahead.  

Student Centered and Traditional Instruction
The image accompanying this message illustrates the effectiveness of different types of learning environments. On the graph, the green curve represents traditional instruction, and the blue curve represents student centered instruction.  The horizontal axis is student achievement.  While the graph was made for illustrative purposes, the general features are supported by many studies.  The first point to make is that student-centered methods are not always better.  For instance, you could throw a stack of encyclopedias into a room full of kindergarteners expecting them to learn to read.   While students would be guiding their own learning in a student-centered manner,  it would be very unlikely that the students would learn to read.  This is illustrated in the image by the stack of books on the left.  

Looking more closely, you might notice that traditional instruction can create a minimum or floor for student achievement, but it also creates ceiling beyond which few students excel.  So using traditional methods might be useful if your goal was to establish a competent school with few resources.  At ACS, however, where we are arguably the best school in Bolivia, and we can aspire to be the best school in South America, we can do much better.   We certainly shouldn't settle for being just a competent school.  Our vision, after all, is to be a model of excellence.  

As you can see, effective student centered instruction opens a pathway to student achievement beyond what is possibly with traditional methods.  For some time, our teachers have been shifting their teaching toward practices that will yield greater student achievement.  Highly effective models require teachers to tailor their work to individual students in order to maximize achievement.  To do so is not easy, and it is very difficult to do alone.  It takes teams of teachers working together, visiting one another's classrooms, analyzing problems, and finding solutions.  This requires that we change the common view of teaching as an individual activity and begin viewing it as a team activity.  To support this shift, we have been working with an external consultant to develop the capabilities of our instructional leaders.  In particular, they are learning to more effectively facilitate the teamwork necessary to make ACS a model of excellence in educating students.  While I am confident that this work will be transformational, it is not instantaneous.  If we want to methodically develop the skills and capacities that will make ACS a leader on the continent, we must take a long view.  

Our leaders are currently developing their own skills, then they will begin coordinating the efforts of their teams to continually optimize instruction for student achievement.  It is an exciting time to be at ACS.

A través de todo el colegio, se ha vuelvo a enfatizar nuestra prioridad en el plan estratégico de ACS, de acuerdo a lo siguiente:

 

Objetivo No.3 – Prioridad 5:

Continuar cambiando la práctica de instrucción desde un enfoque centrado del profesor a un enfoque centrado en el alumno. 


El 20 de septiembre, mi mensaje fue para explicar un poco de lo que esto significaba. Pero ahora, hoy, me gustaría explicarles un poco más a fondo acerca del porqué es tan importante compartir con Uds. algunos de nuestros recientes avances en esta área, así como algunos de los planes que tenemos para el futuro próximo.

 

Student Centered and Traditional Instruction

La imagen acompañando a este mensaje ilustra la eficacia de diferentes tipos de entornos  educativos de aprendizaje. En el gráfico, la curva verde representa la instrucción tradicional y la curva azul representa la instrucción centrada en el alumno. El eje horizontal es el rendimiento de los estudiantes. Ahora, mientras el gráfico se realizó con fines ilustrativos, las características generales están respaldadas por muchos estudios. El primer punto a destacar es que los métodos centrados en el alumno no siempre son los mejores. Por ejemplo, si ponemos varias enciclopedias en un curso lleno de niños de kinder esperando que aprendan a leer; si bien los estudiantes estarían guiando su propio aprendizaje de manera centrada, sería muy poco probable que estos niños aprendieran a leer. Este ejemplo se ilustra en la imagen mediante un montón de libros a la izquierda.

 

Mirando más de cerca, podrían notar que la instrucción tradicional puede crear un mínimo de rendimiento de los estudiantes, pero también crea un techo más allá donde son pocos los estudiantes que sobresalen. Por lo tanto, el uso de métodos tradicionales puede resultar útil si su objetivo es establecer un colegio competente con pocos recursos.

Sin embargo, en ACS, donde posiblemente somos el mejor colegio de Bolivia y aspiramos a ser el mejor colegio de América del Sur, aún podemos hacerlo mucho mejor.

Ciertamente, no debemos conformarnos con ser solo una escuela competente. Nuestra visión, después de todo, es ser un modelo de excelencia.

 

Como se puede ver, la instrucción centrada en los alumnos abre un camino hacia el rendimiento estudiantil más allá de lo que posiblemente se pueda realizar con métodos tradicionales. Durante algún tiempo, nuestros profesores han estado cambiando su enseñanza hacia prácticas que generan un mayor rendimiento estudiantil. Los modelos altamente efectivos requieren que los profesores adapten su trabajo hacia alumnos de forma individualizada para lograr los máximos logros. Hacerlo no es fácil y es muy difícil hacerlo solo. Se necesitan equipos de profesores que trabajen juntos, realicen visitas a las diferentes aulas, analizar los problemas y encontrar soluciones. Para esto, se requiere que cambiemos la visión común de la enseñanza como una actividad individual y comencemos a verla como una actividad de equipo. Para apoyar este cambio, hemos estado trabajando con un consultor externo para desarrollar las capacidades de nuestros líderes educativos. En particular, se está aprendiendo a facilitar de manera más efectiva el trabajo en equipo necesario para hacer de ACS un modelo de excelencia en la educación de los alumnos. Si bien, estoy seguro de que este trabajo es transformador, estamos conscientes de que no es instantáneo. Si queremos desarrollar metódicamente las habilidades y capacidades que harán de ACS un líder en el continente, debemos tener una visión a largo plazo.

 

Nuestros líderes actualmente están desarrollando sus propias habilidades, luego comenzarán a coordinar los esfuerzos de sus equipos para optimizar continuamente las instrucciones para el rendimiento óptimo estudiantil. Es un momento muy emocionante para estar en ACS.

24 November 2021 - Gracias a la Vida

Dear ACS Community,

I am very proud to share with you an outstanding production by a group of our secondary students led by two of our teachers Ms. Ana del Carmen Mendez and Mr. Bernado Rios.  This video was shot just steps from where the original song was written almost exactly 55 years ago.  

The message is especially poignant at this time after many among our community have experienced profound loss and all have lost opportunities.  As the pandemic just begins to loosen its grip upon us and our community comes together to celebrate Thanksgiving, this work is a beautiful human expression of our thanks for life.

 Dear ACS Community,

As you know, we are monitoring COVID-19 incidence carefully, and the data is now beginning to show a slight increase in cases in La Paz, although the national increase still appears to be dominated by the numbers in Santa Cruz.  Over the weekend, we also had our third case of COVID-19 in the school year that required contact tracing.  All of the impacted families have been contacted with instructions regarding quarantine and testing.  We appreciate your continued vigilance in keeping your children at home and getting them tested if they show any symptoms.  We also encourage everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated.  While any case is a concern, there is still no evidence of any transmission taking place at school.

On a different note, many of you may have been involved in the school accreditation process that happened over the last few years.  You may have answered surveys, participated in committees, or met with the visiting team.  Accreditation is a lengthy process designed to help schools evaluate their current state, make plans for improvement, and receive external feedback and validation for their efforts.  ACS received very positive feedback from the process and from the visiting team, but recently, we received even greater recognition.  

Our accrediting agency in the United States, Cognia, recently recognized ACS as a School of Distinction.  You can find more information at the link in my message.  Each year, Cognia recognizes schools that best exemplify excellence in education and service to learners based on the rigorous accreditation process.  ACS is now one of those schools.

This recognition is a testament to all the hard work by teachers, administrators, students, and parents during the accreditation process.  I would also like to recognize the superb work of Jamie Otis in leading this effort during the most unusual of times.

Estimada Comunidad de ACS,

Como ustedes saben, estamos monitoreando cuidadosamente la incidencia de COVID-19 y los datos comienzan a mostrar un ligero aumento en los casos en la ciudad de La Paz, aunque en cuanto al panorama nacional todavía parecen estar aumentando los números en la ciudad de Santa Cruz. Durante el fin de semana, hemos tenido un tercer caso de COVID-19 en el colegio y ha requerido una búsqueda de contactos. Nos hemos contactado con todas las familias afectadas con instrucciones sobre la cuarentena obligatoria y pruebas que deben realizarse. Apreciamos la continua vigilancia de mantener a su hijo(a) en casa si presenta síntomas y hacerles la pruebas necesarias. También alentamos a todas las personas elegibles para obtener la vacuna. Si bien cualquier caso es preocupante, todavía no hay evidencia de transmisión de COVID-19 en el colegio.

Otra noticia aparte, es posible que muchos de ustedes hayan estado involucrados en el proceso de acreditación escolar que se llevó a cabo durante los últimos años. Es posible que haya respondido encuestas, participado en comités o se haya reunido con el equipo visitante. La acreditación es un proceso largo diseñado para ayudar a los colegios a evaluar su estado actual, hacer planes de mejora y recibir retroalimentación y validación externas por los esfuerzos. ACS ha recibido comentarios muy positivos en cuanto a este proceso por el equipo visitante y recientemente hemos recibido un reconocimiento aún mayor.

Nuestra agencia de acreditación en los Estados Unidos, Cognia, ha reconocido recientemente a ACS como un Colegio de Distinción. Puede encontrar más información en este enlace. Cada año Cognia reconoce a los colegios que mejor ejemplifican la excelencia en la educación y el servicio a los alumnos de acuerdo al rigoroso proceso de acreditación. ACS es ahora uno de esos colegios.

Este reconocimiento es un testimonio de todo el trabajo arduo de profesores, administradores, estudiantes y padres de familia durante el proceso de acreditación. También me gustaría reconocer el excelente trabajo de Jamie Otis al liderar este esfuerzo durante los momentos más inusuales.

 Dear ACS Community,

Today, we welcomed both cohorts of our grade 7-12 students to campus at the same time.  We have informed the distrital level of the Ministry of Education that we can do this without ever having more than ten unvaccinated students in a room at the same time.  In addition, we will have a vaccination clinic tomorrow for students ages 12 to 17.  This will even further decrease the number of unvaccinated students at school.  Unfortunately, the ministry has not yet given us permission to more fully open for students in grades 2 through 6.  Even today, however, they requested additional information from us to further study the possibility.   So, we are hopeful that we can open fully, safely, for all students soon.

From a parent or student perspective, you may not recognize all the recent professional development that is going on for staff at school.  Almost since the start of school, we have been running an intensive program of professional development for all of our instructional leaders with an external consultant.  We are building capacity among this group so that they can effectively facilitate teams throughout the school in their efforts to continuously increase student achievement.  Similarly, we have been running a weekly program of capacity building for our office team as they increase their ability to support all areas of school operations while modernizing our systems.  In addition, programs of professional development for teachers in the areas of mathematics and literacy education are just starting.  In particular, our elementary teachers will kick-off this initiative with an intensive session facilitated by an external consultant on mathematics education this Wednesday.  

If developing the excellent faculty and staff that we have is one side of a coin, the other side is recruiting world-class educators to work at ACS.  This past weekend we started that process at the Global Recruitment Collaborative's virtual recruitment fair.  This organization is made up of the very best international schools around the world, and is open only to teachers who have worked for these elite institutions.  I'm proud to say that ACS is now a member.  Our ACS team spent the past weekend interviewing more than 50 experienced candidates for four available positions here at ACS.  We were very impressed with the talent and experience of these veteran educators from around the world.  Our goal is to search the whole globe to find the very best teachers for our ACS students, and this is exactly what we are doing.

Estimada Comunidad de ACS,

El día de hoy dimos la bienvenida a ambos grupos de nuestros alumnos de los cursos de 7 a 12. Hemos informado al Ministerio de Educación a nivel Distrital de esta medida, siempre y cuando no tengamos mas de 10 alumnos no vacunados en una aula al mismo tiempo. Además mañana iniciamos la vacunación a nuestros alumnos de 12 a 17 años. Con esta medida disminuiremos aún más el número de alumnos no vacunados en el colegio. Desafortunadamente, el ministerio aún no nos ha dado permiso para abrir el colegio a nuestros alumnos de los cursos de 2 a 6. Sin embargo, hoy día nos han pedido información adicional para considerar mas a fondo esta posibilidad. Por lo tanto tenemos la esperanza de poder abrir el colegio completamente y de manera segura a todos los alumnos.

Es probable que desde la  perspectiva  de los padres de familia y/o de los alumnos no es reconocido todo el reciente desarrollo profesional impartido al personal del colegio. Casi desde el comienzo del colegio, hemos estado ejecutando un programa intensivo de desarrollo profesional para todos los líderes de cada departamento con un consultor externo. Estamos desarrollando habilidades dentro este grupo para que ellos crean eficientes equipos que puedan efectivamente y continuamente mejorar el rendimiento de nuestros alumnos. De manera similar, hemos estado ejecutando un programa semanal de desarrollo de capacidad para nuestro equipo de oficina para respaldar todas las áreas de operaciones escolares mientras se modernizan nuestros sistemas. Además los programas de desarrollo profesional para profesores en las áreas de  matemáticas y literatura que están recién esta comenzando. En particular, nuestros profesores de primaria pondrán en marcha esta iniciativa con una sesión intensiva con un consultor externo en matemáticas este miércoles.

Si capacitar el excelente cuerpo docente y personal que tenemos es una cara de la moneda, la otra cara es la contratación de educadores de clase mundial para trabajar en ACS. El pasado fin de semana comenzamos este proceso en la feria de reclutamiento virtual de Global Recruitment Collaborative. Esta organización esta formada por los mejores colegios internacionales de todo el mundo y está abierta sólo a profesores que hayan trabajado para estas instituciones de élite. Me enorgullece decir que ACS ahora también es miembro de este grupo. Nuestro equipo de ACS entrevistó durante el pasado fin de semana a más de 50 candidatos con experiencia para cuatro opuestos disponibles. Quedamos muy impresionados con el talento y la experiencia de estos educadores veteranos de todo el mundo. Nuestro objetivo es buscar los mejores profesores para nuestros alumnos de ACS y esto es exactamente lo que estamos haciendo.

 Dear ACS Community,

It was a great joy to watch cohort A and cohort B on subsequent weeks participate in the traditional Elementary School parade at the end of book week or Halloween.  While the students were still split into cohorts, we were able to involve more parents than ever before through zoom.  

Concerning splitting students into cohorts, I am pleased to announce some additional progress toward more fully reopening the school.  Thanks to your help providing us with data, we have determined that no class in grades 7-12 would have more than 10 unvaccinated students even if we brought all students back at one time.  This reduces the risk of transmission to a level low enough to warrant a further reopening at those grade levels.  Thus, I am very pleased to announce that grade 7-12 students will be able to return to school full-time starting on the 15th of November.  We have also informed the Ministry of Education at the distrital level that we will be taking this step.  Of course, we will need to strictly maintain our biosecurity procedures to ensure the safety of our entire community.  In addition, for the time being, we will continue providing a virtual option if you wish to keep your children at home.

Please know that we are also working quickly with the goal of bringing the rest of the students back to campus safely as soon as possible.  Of course, we are also monitoring the local incidence of COVID-19 to calibrate all of our actions.

Thank you to all of you who pay your tuition regularly.  As you know, we use all of your tuition to directly support school operations.  The graph below shows our progress on collecting October's tuition.  We will occasionally use this message to bring you important financial information about the school.

Estimada Comunidad de ACS,

Fue de gran agrado ver a los grupos A y B de primaria participando en el tradicional desfile del libro o Halloween en dos semanas consecutivas. Si bien los alumnos estuvieron divididos en grupos, pudimos involucrar como nunca a más padres de familia a través de zoom.

Con respecto a dividir alumnos en grupos, me complace anunciar algunos avances adicionales hacia una reapertura completa de alumnos. Gracias a la ayuda proporcionada por ustedes, hemos determinado que ninguna clase de los niveles de 7-12 tendría más de 10 alumnos no vacunados, incluso si vendrían todos loa alumnos al mismo tiempo. Esto reduce el riesgo de transmisión a un nivel lo suficientemente bajo como para justificar una nueva reapertura en esos niveles. Por lo tanto, me alegra anunciar que los alumnos de los niveles 7-12 podrán regresar al colegio a tiempo completo a partir del día 15 de noviembre. También henos informado de este paso al Ministerio de Educación a nivel Distrital. Por supuesto, tendremos que mantener estrictamente nuestros procedimientos de bioseguridad para garantizar la seguridad de toda nuestra comunidad. Además, de momento seguiremos brindando la opción virtual si usted desea mantener a sus hijos en casa.

 Dear ACS Community,

It was wonderful to see so many parents on campus last week for our first in-person General Assembly in two years.  There was a palpable spirit of positivity and commitment on the part of the whole community. 

This week is also an exciting week as we continue our celebrations of book week in the Elementary School and spirit week in the Secondary School for cohort A.  In addition, don't forget that tomorrow is a school holiday.  Then, on Thursday, the Secondary school has a special interdisciplinary STEAM afternoon planned that will involve Bolivian culture, technology, art, mathematics, music, and even Amayaran language.  

If you are a parent of a secondary school student, please make it a priority to complete the new vaccination survey.  We urgently need this data to assess the risk of bringing more students back to school.

Fue estupendo ver a tantos padres de familia que vinieron al colegio después de dos años para nuestra primera Asamblea General la semana pasada. Se sintió un ambiente de positivismo y compromiso por parte de toda la comunidad.

Esta semana también es una semana emocionante ya que seguimos continuando con nuestras celebraciones de la semana del libro en primaria y la semana de orgullo de ACS en secundaria para el grupo A.

Además, no olvidemos que mañana es feriado nacional. Luego, el jueves el nivel secundario tiene planeado una tarde especial interdisciplinaria STEAM que involucrará la cultura boliviana, tecnología, arte, matemáticas, música, e incluso el idioma aymara.

Si es padre de un estudiante de secundaria, por favor es prioridad que complete la nueva encuesta de vacunación. Necesitamos estos datos con urgencia para evaluar el riesgo de traer mas alumnos al colegio.

25 October 2021 - the week ahead

 Dear ACS Community,

This is an exciting week at ACS.  It is book week in the elementary school and spirit week in the secondary school for cohort B.  Cohort A will have these special events next week.  It is great to see seasonal celebrations returning to school.  In addition, we will host the first in-person general assembly at ACS in for two years.  We are delighted to welcome parents back to campus on Wednesday at 6:30 pm for this important community event.  We are also offering campus tours both before and after the meeting, especially for parents who joined our community during that pandemic and have not visited the school campus.  If you have not reserved a seat for the meeting or a spot on a tour, you can still do so at the link in my message.  Please be aware that this event will require strict biosecurity protocols.  Thus, we must limit the total number of attendees, and we cannot serve food and drinks. 

This past week we have been reminded of the pandemic as one of our ACS families was affected by COVID-19.  The siblings tested positive during the week after having had negative tests to return to school on Monday.  We have followed our procedures identifying close contacts and quarantining the appropriate groups of students and teachers.  During times like this, concern about who needs to quarantine becomes heightened.  To help in these situations, we have created an infographic to help explain this complex and important information.  It is attached to my message, and is based upon the recommendations of international health authorities.  It is also important to understand our communication during these situations.  Our communication must balance the needs of our community with individual families' need for privacy.  In any such event, we will communicate as quickly as possibly with families of students who are identified as close contacts as described in the graphic.  We will generally not make a whole school announcement to protect the privacy of individual families.  So, If you hear rumors about COVID-19 cases, you can be assured that you will be contacted if your child is identified as a close contact.  

Although it is not appropriate for us to announce individual cases to the whole community, it may be helpful for you to understand the frequency of such cases in order to better asses your risk.  Since the start of school, there have been no positive cases among those completing the required testing to attend school.  On the other hand, there have been five students who tested positive at other times.  Of those five, only three were at the school during a window of time that necessitated contact tracing.  So, we quarantined three groups of students according to our protocols.  So far, there has been no evidence of COVID-19 being transmitted at school.  While every case is concerning, I hope these numbers provide some perspective on the risk to you and your family.

Tendremos una semana emocionante en el colegio. Es la semana del libro en primaria y la semana del espíritu del colegio en secundaria para el grupo B. El grupo A tendrá estas celebraciones especiales la próxima semana. Es estupendo que podemos celebrar nuevamente en el colegio las festividades de temporada. Además, seremos los anfitriones de forma presencial de la primera asamblea general en ACS después de dos años. Estamos emocionados de poder dar la bienvenida a los padres de familia al campus este miércoles a las 6:30pm a este importante evento para la comunidad. También, ofreceremos recorridos por el campus del colegio antes y después de la asamblea, especialmente para los padres que se unieron a nuestra comunidad durante la pandemia y no han tenido la oportunidad de visitar el campus del colegio. Si todavía no ha reservado un asiento para la asamblea o un lugar para el recorrido al campus, aún puede hacerlo en este enlace. Por favor tomar en cuenta que este evento requerirá estrictos protocolos de bioseguridad. Por lo tanto, debemos limitar el número total de asistentes y no podremos servir comidas ni bebidas.
La semana pasada hemos recordado de que estamos sufriendo una pandemia ya que una de nuestras familias de ACS se vio afectada por COVID-19. Estudiantes hermanos salieron positivos durante la semana a pesar de haber tenido pruebas negativas para regresar al colegio el lunes. Hemos seguido nuestros procedimientos identificando contactos cercanos y poniendo en cuarentena a los grupos apropiados de alumnos y profesores. En momentos como este, aumenta nuestra preocupación de a quién debemos poner en cuarentena. Para ayudar en estas situaciones, hemos creado un gráfico que ayuda a explicar esta información compleja e importante. Este gráfico esta adjunto en este correo y se basa en las recomendaciones de las autoridades sanitarias internacionales. También es importante comprender nuestra comunicación durante estas situaciones. Esta comunicación debe mantener un equilibrio entre las necesidades de nuestra comunidad y la privacidad de cada familia. En tal caso, nos comunicaremos lo más rápido posible con las familias de los alumnos que se identifiquen como contactos cercanos como se describe en el gráfico. Por lo general,  no haremos un anuncio a todo el colegio para proteger la privacidad de las familias involucradas. Por lo tanto, si escucha rumores sobre los casos de COVID-19 puede estar seguro de que lo contactaremos si su hijo(a) es identificado como un contacto cercano. Aunque no es apropiado que anunciemos casos individuales a toda la comunidad, puede ser de ayuda para que usted comprenda la frecuencia de estos casos y evaluar mejor el riesgo.

18 October 2021 - Welcome Back

 Dear ACS Community,

I hope all our students had a relaxing October break with their families and are excited to return to school.  Thank you to everyone for having your children tested for COVID-19 if they returned to school today.  I am thrilled to report we did not have a single case of COVID-19 among our faculty, staff, or students.  This is despite the slight uptick in COVID-19 cases nationwide.  These results support our continued efforts to move carefully and deliberately toward a greater opening of campus with COVID-19 mitigation efforts firmly in place.  At the same time, the national results call for a cautious approach in which we maintain vigilance.  

In this same spirit, I would like to announce an in-person format for our October General Assembly this year.  We know that some of you have been ACS parents for more than a year, but have never been on the school campus. Thus, we plan to offer some tours in conjunction with the meeting.  So, we are delighted to invite you to participate on Wednesday the 27th of October.  We will send more details along with COVID-19 mitigation measures and an RSVP form soon.  In addition, we will also live stream the event for those of you who prefer to connect from home.

Espero que todos nuestros alumnos hayan tenido unas vacaciones muy relajadas este octubre junto a sus familias y estén muy emocionados de regresar al colegio. Gracias a todos ustedes por mandar a sus hijos hoy al colegio con la prueba para COVID-19. Me complace informar que no tuvimos ni un solo caso de COVID-19 entre nuestros profesores, el  personal, ni entre los alumnos a pesar del leve aumento de casos de COVID-19 en todo el país. Estos resultados respaldan nuestros continuos esfuerzos para avanzar cuidadosa y deliberadamente hacia una mayor apertura del campus con firmes esfuerzos de mitigar el COVID-19. Al mismo tiempo, los resultados nacionales obtenidos exigen que mantengamos una vigilancia cautelosa.

Con el mismo espíritu, me gustaría anunciar que nuestra Asamblea General en octubre será presencial este año.  Entendemos que muchos de ustedes han sido padres de ACS por mas de un año, pero no han  tenido la oportunidad de ingresar al campus del colegio. Por lo tanto, planeamos ofrecer algunos tours cuando tengamos la Asamblea. Por esta razón, tenemos el gusto de invitarlos a participar el miércoles 27 de octubre. 04 October 2021 - the week ahead

 Dear ACS Community,

The year is moving fast, and first quarter is almost behind us.  As we look back, it has been a quarter of almost continuous change as we have implemented an incremental cycle of reopening followed by feedback, evaluation, and the implementation of further refinements.  When we return from the October break, we will again implement a number of advancements and refinements to our hybrid system.   Here are a few:

  • COVID-19 Testing  — Please remember to get COVID-19 tests before returning to campus after October break.   Our school doctor will be sending additional information soon.
  • ES Changes — Our elementary school is implementing some exciting changes to our hybrid model that should yield higher quality instruction.  In addition, we are adding additional ventilation to some classrooms. 
  • Lockers in SS — Our secondary school has developed a limited plan to safely use lockers.  We are glad to be able to respond to this common point of feedback from secondary school students.
  • QR system — Hybrid school has required a complicated set of procedures for pick-up and drop-off.  Especially in the elementary school, many families have their children picked-up by individuals who are not parents.  To help make this system more secure, we will be sending the parents of elementary school students a QR code that can be used to pick up your child.  You can share it with whomever you wish.  In addition, if you want to have the code invalidated and another issued, simply contact the level secretary.
All of these improvements were motivated by feedback.  So, please don't forget that students and parents can provide feedback through the linked form.  We look forward to hearing from you.

El año avanza rápidamente y ya casi hemos terminado el primer trimestre. Si miramos hacia atrás, ha sido un trimestre de cambios continuos, ya que hemos implementado un ciclo de apertura progresivo seguido de retroalimentación, evaluación e implementación de mejoras adicionales. Cuando regresemos de las vacaciones de octubre, implementaremos nuevamente una serie de avances y mejoras en nuestro sistema semipresencial. A continuación presentamos algunos puntos:

Pruebas de COVID-19 - Recuerde hacerse la prueba de COVID-19 antes de regresar al colegio después de las vacaciones de octubre. La doctora del colegio enviará información adicional muy pronto.
Cambios en Primaria - Estamos implementado cambios interesantes en nuestro sistema semipresencial en el nivel primario para obtener una educación de mayor calidad. Además, estamos agregando ventilación adicional a algunas aulas.
Casilleros en Secundaria - En secundaria hemos desarrollado un plan limitado para el uso de los casilleros de forma segura. Nos alegra poder responder a este punto común de comentarios de los alumnos de secundaria.
Sistema de QR - El sistema semipresencial ha requerido de un conjunto complicado de procedimientos para recoger y dejar a los alumnos. Especialmente en primaria, muchas familias cuentan con personas que no son precisamente los padres de familia. Para ayudar a que este sistema sea más seguro, enviaremos a los padres de familia de primaria un código QR, el cual se va a utilizar para recoger a su hijo(a) del colegio. Este código QR lo va a poder compartir con las personas de confianza que ustedes quieran. Además, si desea que el código se invalide y se emita uno nuevo, simplemente se comunica con la secretaria de nivel.

Todas estas mejoras fueron impulsadas por los comentarios recibidos. Por lo tanto, no olvide que los alumnos y los padres pueden proporcionar comentarios a través del formulario en este enlace.

 Dear ACS Community,

Last week, I shared with you our efforts to re-energize our goal to make education more student centered.  As part of that effort, you will notice a small difference in our survey this week.  As always, we value parent input, but we also value feedback from our students.  So, you will notice that the survey now asks whether your role in the community is that of a parent or a student.  It will be enlightening to learn from, compare, and contrast the feedback from parents and students.  In addition, you will notice a new question asking whether education was virtual or on-campus for the week in question.  Thank you to both our parents and our students for providing this important feedback.  You can find a link to the survey here.

Last week, many ACS teachers participated in the Future of Education Now Virtual Conference.  The conference was co-hosted by the Association for the Advancement of International Education and the Western Academy of Beijing.  It involved hundreds of participants from all over the globe.  A special emphasis of the conference was student involvement in charting the future of education.  The timing of this conference matched perfectly our re-emphasis of student-centered education.  It was inspiring to watch educators and students working hand-in-hand to improve education around the world.

Tomorrow, I will be starting a series of meetings with ACS students to amplify their voices and ideas about the future of education at ACS and globally.  I look forward to sharing their thoughts and plans with our community.

Please remember that after our October break we will again be asking all students and staff at ACS to have a COVID-19 test before returning to school.  This is an important part of preventing the virus from entering the campus and complements our efforts to reduce the likelihood of transmission on campus.

La semana pasada, he compartido con ustedes los esfuerzos que hemos realizado para revitalizar nuestro objetivo de hacer que la instrucción este más centrada en los alumnos. Como parte de este esfuerzo, va a notar una pequeña diferencia en nuestra encuesta de esta semana. La conferencia fue patrocinada por la Asociación para el Avance de la Educación Internacional y la Academia Occidental de Beijing. Esta conferencia involucró a cientos de participantes de todo el mundo. La conferencia puso énfasis especial en la participación de los estudiantes en proyectar el futuro de la educación. El momento de esta conferencia coincidió perfectamente con nuestro nuevo énfasis en la instrucción centrada en el estudiante. Fue muy inspirador ver a educadores y estudiantes trabajar mano a mano para mejorar la educación en todo el mundo.

Mañana voy a comenzar una serie de reuniones con los alumnos de ACS para amplificar sus voces e ideas sobre el futuro de la educación en ACS y a nivel mundial. Espero poder compartir sus opiniones y planes con nuestra comunidad.

Por favor recuerde que después de nuestras vacaciones de octubre, nuevamente les pediremos a todos los alumnos y personal de ACS que se realicen una prueba de COVID-19 antes de regresar al colegio. Dear ACS Community,

We have taken another step on the path toward the further opening of the campus.  Today marked the start of food service.  We are thankful that Lonchera has been able to deliver a quality product in a very short amount of time, and we look forward to deepening our partnership with them as they tailor their product to your needs.

While most of my messages have been about the logistics of the hybrid model of school, I would also like to share a little about some of the work that is going around all over the school.  As I have gotten to know ACS, I have been extremely impressed with the great potential that is present among the students, staff, faculty, administration, board, and community.  Our challenge is to turn that great potential into the capacity to improve outcomes for our students.   

One example of how this manifests itself comes from the faculty.  On the faculty side, we are re-energizing one of the strategic priorities from the 2019-2024 strategic plan.  Namely,  to continue to shift instructional practice from a teacher-centered approach to a student-centered approach.  To those of you who are not educators, such a goal might sound a little cryptic.  Essentially, the historic approach to education was teacher centered.  It viewed students as blank slates.  Teachers prepared a fixed body of material without regard to student needs.  A student centered approach, in contrast, highlights the need to meet students where they are and challenge them to grow.  It provides students with voice, choice, and agency in their learning.  This is precisely the right time to see this transition to completion.  Throughout the pandemic, students, teachers, and parents all observed how online education could effectively replicate teacher-centered education.  It has become abundantly clear, however, that the unique value we can add is through student-centered, in-person education, and we are building capacity with that goal in mind.

Hemos dado un paso más en el camino hacia una mayor apertura del campus. Hoy se inició el servicio de almuerzos. Estamos agradecidos de que Lonchera haya podido entregar un producto de calidad en muy poco tiempo y esperamos profundizar nuestra sociedad con ellos a medida que adapten su producto a las necesidades de la comunidad.

Si bien la mayoría de mis mensajes han sido sobre la logística del modelo semipresencial en el colegio, también me gustaría compartir con ustedes un poco acerca del trabajo que estamos realizando dentro del colegio. A medida que voy conociendo ACS, he quedado muy impresionado con el gran potencial que esta presente en todos los alumnos, el personal, los profesores, la administración, la Junta de Directores y la comunidad. Nuestro desafío es convertir este gran potencial en la capacidad de mejorar los resultados de nuestros alumnos.

Un ejemplo de cómo esto se manifiesta proviene de los profesores, a través de ellos estamos revitalizando una de la prioridades estratégicas del plan estratégico 2019-2024. Es decir, continuar cambiando la práctica de instrucción de un enfoque centrado en el profesor a un enfoque centrado en el alumno. Para algunos de ustedes que no son educadores, este objetivo puede sonar un poco difícil de entender. Esencialmente el enfoque histórico de la educación se centró en el profesor. Consideraba a los alumnos como pizarras en blanco. Los profesores preparaban el material sin tener en cuenta las necesidades del alumno. Un enfoque centrado en el alumno, por el contrario, destaca la necesidad de encontrar a los alumnos donde están y desafiarlos a crecer. Brinda a los alumnos voz, elección  y logros en su aprendizaje. Este es precisamente el momento adecuado para ver esta transición hasta su finalización. A lo largo de la pandemia, alumnos y padres de familia observaron como la educación virtual podía replicar de manera efectiva la educación centrada en el profesor. Sin embargo, ha quedado muy claro que el único valor  que podemos agregar es a través de la educación centrada en el alumno y en forma presencial y estamos construyendo ideas con este objetivo en mente.

 Dear ACS Community,

Today we started the second cycle of hybrid school at ACS, and today also marks the return to extracurricular activities.  We are very excited to offer students an opportunity to get away from their screens and get active once again.  

In addition to the exciting return of in-person activities, this Friday we will also celebrate the continuation of the time-honored tradition of inducting new members into the National Honor Society.  This ceremony focuses on students who have demonstrated scholarship, service, leadership, and character.  I think you will agree that these four characteristics are never more needed than they are right now.  

We value your feedback, and have already made some small changes to cohorts and procedures based on your ideas.  We would be grateful to receive more of your thoughts and feedback through our weekly parent survey.  Each week, we will ask the same questions to reveal patterns that will inform changes to our programs.

Finally, you will notice a change in format to this email.  From now on, this message should come directly to your inbox, but you will also always be able to find a copy on the cougar hub along with all the latest ACS information.

Hoy día estamos iniciando el segundo ciclo de instrucción semipresencial en ACS y también empezamos las actividades extracurriculares. Estamos muy emocionados de ofrecer a los alumnos la oportunidad de distanciarse de sus pantallas y volver a estar activos. 

Además del emocionante regreso a las actividades presenciales, este viernes también estaremos celebrando la continuación de la tradición de incorporar a nuevos miembros a la Sociedad Nacional de Honor (NHS). Esta ceremonia está dirigida a los estudiantes que han demostrado estándar de excelencia, liderazgo, servicio y carácter. Creo que van a estar de acuerdo conmigo en que estas cuatro características nunca han sido tan necesarias como en este momento. 

Valoramos sus comentarios y ya hemos realizado algunos pequeños cambios en los cohortes y en los procedimientos basados en sus ideas. Vamos a estar muy agradecidos de seguir recibiendo sus comentarios a través de nuestra encuesta semanal para padres. 10 September 2021 - The second cycle of hybrid school

 Dear ACS Community,

Next week will mark the start of the second cycle of hybrid school.  Once again, we have optimized the cohorts.  If you have signed up to take advantage of the hybrid modality, you will find your child's name listed in the cohort links below.  Please closely review the lists as some assignments have changed.

In addition, we will be starting a limited recreational extracurricular activity program next week.  Thank you to those who earlier expressed your preferences for activities.  Our staff has now used your preferences to compile a schedule.  You can now sign up for specific activities on specific days.  Please use the forms linked below to do so.

Food Service:

We had also hoped to start food service next week.  Unfortunately, our long-term food service provider, La Huerta, is unable to provide service for us at this time.  Thus, we have requested proposals from other providers.  At this time, we have more than five vendors interested.  We hope to finalize an agreement and start service as soon as possible, but we apologize that this will not be ready for next week.

Estimada Comunidad de ACS,

La próxima semana iniciamos el segundo ciclo de instrucción semipresencial. Una vez más hemos optimizado la organización de los cohortes. Si ya se ha registrado para aprovechar esta modalidad  semipresencial, va a encontrar el nombre de su hijo(a) el los enlances de cohortes a continuación.  Revise detenidamente las listas, ya que algunas asignaciones han cambiado.

Además, comenzaremos un programa limitado de actividades extracurriculares recreativas la próxima semana. Gracias a quienes expresaron anteriormente sus preferencias por estas actividades. Nuestro personal está utilizando sus respuestas para compilarlas con sus horarios. Ahora puede inscribirse en actividades específicas en días específicos. Por favor utilize el formulario que le mandamos a continuación.

Servicio de comida:

También esperábamos comenzar el servicio de alimentación la próxima semana, pero desafortunadamente nuestro proveedor de servicio de alimentos, La Huerta, no puede brindarnos este servicio en este momento. Por ello, hemos solicitado propuestas a otros proveedores. En este momento, tenemos más de cinco proveedores interesados. Esperamos finalizar un acuerdo y comenzar el servicio lo antes posible, lamentamos que no esté listo para la próxima semana.

6 September 2021 - Cohort B Starts

 Dear ACS Community,


As we start our second week of hybrid school at ACS, we want to thank all of you who have provided us with feedback on our programs.  A significant fraction of our community responded.  If you have not done so yet, you can find the link on the cougar hub.  I would like to share a few results from that survey with you.  


You may recall that we asked about three measures about balance.  They focused on communication, workload, and the balance between anytime and real-time activities. About as many of you felt we had too much communication this week as felt that we had too little.  The same was true of the workload for students.   The majority thought the balance was about right for both of these measures.   The balance between any-time and real-time work showed the common desire to have students back real-time in the classroom.  Finally, the measures of quality showed that most of you are happy with teacher effort, academic learning, and student wellbeing.  

Although the overall picture was quite positive, we appreciate the detailed comments that many of you left for us.  In many cases, these pointed toward areas of improvement. There were, for instance, many suggestions for us to improve the hybrid modality especially for those students who were online.  Many comments described a difficult and frustrating experience for students connecting from home while their peers were at school.  

We will be sharing your comments with our teachers as we work with them to investigate options for improving the experience of students both at home and at school.  While the hybrid model around the world has proven to be the most difficult, we will work together to optimize it for our community.  As the year progresses, I will frequently remind you about the survey.  We will keep the questions the same so that we can monitor changes in the results over time.  I'll also periodically share what we have learned from your collective wisdom.

This week, as we promised, we would like to ask you whether you prefer to take advantage of the hybrid model or have your child only learn virtually for the period from the 13th of September until the 8th of October.  Please complete the form linked to my message to indicate your preference for each of your children.  If you will be sending a child to school for the first time, you will also need to complete the cougar caring commitment and informed consent form linked to my message.  For now, we will not be requiring an additional COVID-19 test if your child has already had one to come to school, but our plans do call for another round of testing after the October break.

We also plan to introduce some additional services on September 13th.  The bus service run by Don Lucio will begin if there is sufficient interest.  Currently, there is not.  In addition, we are working with a partner to provide a bagged lunch service.   More details should be available from our partner soon.  Finally, we plan to start after school activities on the 13th of September.  The first step in that process is to gauge interest in the program.  If you are interested, please use the form linked to my message to express that interest.  The program will be a recreational one designed to optimally but safely use our facilities to involve as many students as possible.

Al comenzar nuestra segunda semana de instrucción semipresencial en ACS, queremos agradecerles a todos los que nos han brindado comentarios acerca de nuestros programas. Una parte significativa de nuestra comunidad ha respondido a la encuesta. Si aún no lo ha hecho, puede encontrar el enlace aqui y en el Cougar Hub. Me gustaría compartir con ustedes algunos de los resultados de esta encuesta.


Como recordará hemos preguntado acerca de tres medidas de equilibrio. Estas medidas se centran en la comunicación, la carga de trabajo y el equilibrio entre las actividades que se realizan en cualquier momento y en tiempo real. Algunos de ustedes sintieron que tuvimos demasiada comunicación durante esta semana cómo algunos sintieron que tuvimos muy poca. Lo mismo ocurre con la carga de trabajo a los alumnos, la mayoría pensó que el equilibrio era el adecuado para ambas medidas. El equilibrio entre la instrucción en cualquier momento y en tiempo real nos ha mostrado el deseo común de que los alumnos regresen a clases en tiempo real. Finalmente las medidas de calidad mostraron que la mayoría de ustedes están contentos con el esfuerzo de los profesores, el aprendizaje académico y el bienestar de los alumnos.

Aunque el panorama general fue bastante positivo, agradecemos los comentarios en detalle que algunos de ustedes nos hicieron saber. En muchos casos, estos apuntaron a áreas en las que podemos mejorar. Hubo, por ejemplo, muchas sugerencias para mejorar la modalidad semipresencial, especialmente para aquellos alumnos que siguen clases en forma virtual. Muchos comentarios hacen referencia a una experiencia difícil y frustrante para los alumnos que se conectaban desde sus casas mientras sus compañeros estaban fisicamente en el colegio.

Compartiremos sus comentarios con los profesores para trabajar con ellos y revisar opciones para mejorar la experiencia de los alumnos tanto en casa como en el colegio. Si bien el modelo semipresencial en todo el mundo ha demostrado ser el más difícil, trabajaremos junto con la comunidad para optimizarlo.

A medida que avanza el año, le mandaremos una encuesta cada semana. Mantendremos las preguntas iguales para que podamos monitorear los cambios en los resultados a lo largo del tiempo. También compartiré periódicamente  los resultados de sus sabias respuestas.

Esta semana, como hemos prometido, nos gustaría saber si le gustaría aprovechar la instrucción semipresencial o que su hijo(a) solo aprenda de forma virtual durante el período comprendido entre el 13 de septiembre y el 8 de octubre. Por favor complete el formulario vinculado a mi mensaje para indicar su preferencia por cada unos de sus hijo(a)s. Si usted desea enviar a su hijo(a) al colegio por primera vez, también deberá completar el formulario de Cougar Consentimiento y Compromiso de Cuidado vinculado a este mensaje. Por ahora, no necesitaremos una prueba adicional de COVID-19 si su hijo(a) ya se la ha hecho una para venir al colegio, pero nuestros planes requieren otra ronda de pruebas después de las vacaciones de octubre.

También planeamos introducir algunos servicios adicionales el día13 de septiembre. El servicio de autobuses de Don Lucio comenzará si tenemos suficiente interés. Actualmente no tenemos el interés suficiente. Además, estamos trabajando con un socio para el servicio de almuerzos embolsados. Pronto tendremos más detalles al respecto. Finalmente, planeamos comenzar las actividades extracurriculares el día 13 de septiembre. El primer paso en este proceso es medir el interés en el programa. Si usted está interesado, utilize el formulario vinculado a este mensaje para expresar su interés. El programa será recreativo y diseñado para utilizar nuestras instalaciones de manera óptima, pero segura para involucrar a la mayor cantidad de alumnos posible.
